Less than three weeks after being sworn in as the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez already has more Twitter followers than Speaker Nancy Pelosi, more interactions than Barack Obama, one of C-SPAN's most-watched congressional floor speeches of all time and a ubiquitous nickname that doubles as her Twitter handle — "AOC."
Democrats want to learn from her, Republicans want to destroy her and many in Washington fear being "dunked on" by her. The 29-year-old House freshman from New York is showing her older peers what the future of politics might look like once the digital natives like her take over, for better or worse.
"We've just never had someone who matches both our demographics and our politics," said Waleed Shahid, who worked on her campaign and is the communications director of the left-wing group Justice Democrats. "Bernie (Sanders) matches our politics, but he doesn't match our demographics."

I for one am happy that she's talking openly about socialism instead of hiding it under the guise of moderate or centrism like so many other Democrats have done.
AOC is reshaping the Democratic Party and Nancy Pelosi is so out of touch she has no idea how to counter it.
A shutdown is benefiting AOC. It's not like she (or any other Democrat) will get any legislation passed. Instead, she's spending her time on Instagram cooking lasagna and discussing intersectional democratic socialism with her rapidly growing army of highly-motivated followers who are eating up every word.
AO-C parrots political discontent as if she knew the history or the cause...most of her followers are just as breezy-brained AND there is NO Democrat Party anymore just a patchwork quilt of Marxist know-nothings, they think they are Americans, in fact they are the destroyers of their own and my rights, freedom and liberty.

She's set her sights on establishment Democrats, fat and comfortable in congressional districts they think are unchallenged.

The problem is the fact that people (press) keep talking to her and about her validates her sense of self-importance and that she ahs something important to say. The fact that Republicans make fun of her also validates her importance because from her standpoint the right people hate her so she must be right!

I unfortunately have to agree. What little bits of history they know and have been taught are, largely, wrong. Their ability to reason seemingly purposely limited.
