I like the concept behind the Alamo for the SOTU speech, but there’s really no room there. The chapel is usually what is shown in pictures, and it is much smaller than even the Senate chamber. There is an even smaller barracks building that’s long and narrow, and full of displays. Even the outside courtyard is quite small. Most of the original fort walls are gone, and the remaining area of the memorial compound is quite a bit smaller than the original fort.
The optics of doing the speech at the Alamo would resemble the Yellow Jackets walking down the avenues in Paris. There are a number of streets in front of the Alamo and the Courtyard there would be great optics if there were people on all of the four or five roads - And wearing Yellow Jackets to boot
