Why do they call it Red River? That is quite a ways to the north.

Austin has the Red River District, but I don’t remember a Red River there. I’m not sure the creeks in Austin are nearby.

There has to be a FReeper who knows.

They are referring to Red River St. not the Red River.

It’s just the name of the street. Just like every city has a MLK street when he never lived there. Lots of Peach streets when there was never a peach tree anywhere around.
