Could be. Or maybe he is just making them an offer they can’t refuse. Trump has been hinting all along that DACA was on the table. Democrats will be sunk if they don’t accept it or something close to it.
Not sure I’m up to date, but I have stuck in my mind that total cost to secure the border will be $25B. I don’t think I’d settle for $5.7B for just one year of funding. Secure funding for $5.7 per year for five years. Then we can talk.
A wall in the south does not secure the border. The next Prog pres can simply open the gates. Planes fly over them and ships go around them.
We already have all the tools and laws needed to prevent illegal immigration and evict illegal immigrants. A wall won’t help if the Dems still want them here.
Trumps compromise is what they have been waiting for. They will pocket this small win and move on.
