Republican is not much to be proud of these days. And him turning away from parental politics is normal at 16. Give him time. Gently point out some ‘troubling contradictions” in left wing ideas, so sonny can see that both sides can be quite corrupt. Hopefully he will head toward life principles and not political parties.
