That low life globalist. Trump has done 100 times note compassionate moves for everyday people in this country than he ever did.
And constantly undermines him.
I’m so tired of hearing his BS

The problem is that ultimately, Bush gave in and started attacking Trump. There was a huge retinue of people who deserved Bush’s criticism, many of whom are far worse people than Donald Trump.

By singling out Trump and ignoring the rest, George Bush was virtue signaling, or what we used to call being self-righteous.

Why criticize Trump for telling the truth crassly and fail to criticize Obama for lying eloquently? Because truth matters less to you than appearance. Because you get no points with the mob for rightly criticizing their false god, but they will cheer you for attacking the object of their hatred.

I have no doubt of George Bush’s high character and earnest desire to do right, but this is an object lesson in how we fail to do right even when we are certain we are doing the right thing.

President I Did Not Have Sex with That Woman
President Islam Is a Religion of Peace
President If You Like Your Doctor You Can Keep Your Doctor

I don’t think we need to be looking to any of those three for guidance.

W attacked Trump openly about 31 days before the new Trump policy of bombing Taliban drug labs in Afcrapistan became public. Apparently the operation started sometime before it was announced.

GWB was and is just as mercenary as the overwhelming majority of those who pass through elected office in DC are. They get rich doing whatever it takes to keep the cash rolling in for the 1% and work their butts off to keep the dupes who elect them clueless.

Here is another post which I wrote several years ago and for which I drew considerable flak at the time. I doubt I will receive much flak for the same post today: [written a decade ago. Today, in 2019, I believe that I would indeed receive a degree of flak but from the opposite direction from conservatives who would say that the post is too forgiving of the Bush clan. In the third paragraph please note that I have emphasized the words, "they believe in family, they believe in loyalty, they believe in the tribe…". I think this explains their animosity to Trump, he attacked the family. Also Trump is a traitor to his class as well as the Bushes' class nor does he behave according to the Bush definition of a gentleman. In other words, Trump attacked the things that really matter to the Bush clan, conservative politics not among them. Here now is that post from a decade ago]:

The problem with George Bush is that he is not primarily a conservative, he is primarily a Christian, and he does not have a calculus that is congruent with yours or mine, even though both of us might be Christians. George Bush sees partisan politics as petty and ultimately meaningless. We see partisanship as the indispensable stuff of freedom. At election time the Bushes will hold their nose and dip into partisanship. But it is not in their essential nature to wage war for tactical political advantage.

George Bush wants what Bill Clinton wanted: To fashion a legacy. He does not want to be remembered as the man who cut a few percentage points from an appropriation bill but as the man who reshaped Social Security. I've come to the conclusion that the Bushes see politics as smarmy, fetid. It must be indulged in if one is to practice statesmanship but it is statesmanship alone that that is worthy as a calling.

They are honest, they are loyal, they are patrician. There would've been admired and respected if had lived among the founding fathers. But it is Laura Bush and Momma Bush who really and truly speak for the family and who tell us what they are thinking and who they are. There's not a Bush woman who does not believe in abortion. They believe in family, they live in loyalty, they believe in the tribe, but they do not believe in partisan politics.

I believe it is time for us to decide no longer to be used by the Bush family as useful idiots and instead to begin to use the Bushes as our useful idiots . I say this with the utmost admiration and respect for everything the Bushes stand for. Who would not be proud beyond description to have a father or an uncle who was among the first and youngest of naval aviators to fight in the Pacific and to have been shot down. Not a stain or blemish of corruption or personal peccadillo has touched the family(except for the brother whom I believe was cleared of bank charges). They are the living embodiment of all that is good and noble in the American tradition.

But they are not conservative.

Over the course 8 years of W’s Presidency, we learned what “Compassionate Conservatism” was all about. It was basically another flavor of internationalist liberalism, with some empty faux-patriotic or religious-sounding rhetoric put into the mix. Take Bill Clinton minus the sleazy sex life, and you basically get Bush.

[How long before Bush endorses gay marriage?]

W appointed a openly-gay ambassador. I don’t remember where.

I pointed it out (elsewhere). Of course I got slammed a bit.

He appointed the openly gay ambassador to Romania.

The American Conservative wrote an article about it, called “The Pink Embassy”. Everyone here should read it, because it was smack dab in the middle of the federal marriage amendment debate. Some of us wanted the federal Courts’ appellate jurisdiction restricted, in order to avoid what we have now.

And...the Sodomite ambassador’s “partner” was present at the swearing in, by Condi Rice (a lesbian?)

Yeah...I got slammed for pointing this stuff as well.

And at the same time, RNC chairman Ken Mehlman was closeted. Wanna bet he knew about that as well?

Well, the site I mentioned it at eventually banned me for not being kind enough to the Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama. Most of the people who were there were O.K.

To the ones who weren’t, I shook the dust off my feet at them. May they enjoy their Obama they worshiped so much.
