Watch for special limousine seating conversions of the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator SUV's to replace a lot of these "stretch" limousines.
But frankly, they really need to crack down on the so-called Chinatown buses operating in the Northeast given their spotty safety record.

The limo that launched this knee-jerk move.... FAILED its safety inspection, but was allowed on the road anyway? And the answer is to ban them?

Ban fire—it kills a lot of people.
Ban heart attacks.
Better yet—ban death.

Ray, the stretch involved in that accident was SUV based. I assume they would be included in the ban.

Simply require a road worthiness test for any modified vehicles.

“Common sense” limousine control?
To: Responsibility2nd
The owners of that limo were FBI assets if memory serves.
Seems that every time something was tried to get them to comply, some magic interference would happen.

They are always exempt.
Comes with the position.

If his kid fell off a pony he’d ban those too.

One should never make legislation based on a single case.
There are many perfectly good limo services, now NY is putting them out of business.
That's the commie way, no one can have anything nice.

He’s going to ban a vehicle that is legal in every other state? How tyrannical of him, again.
Time and time again, Little Andy shows he is either completely insane or as dumb as a turnip. Sometimes it’s hard to tell.

Both vehicles come in stretched versions. My 2018 Navigator has a lot of power, a 450 hp twin turbo-charged V6 with a bit more than 500 ft. lb. of torque. The Escalade is similar, but with a V8. Might be possible to do a good job of conversion but definitely requires inspection and licensing. BTW I’ve driven my 2018 Navigator from Knoxville, TN to Davis, CA and back and covered lots of mountains with it. GREAT VEHICLE!

How about we ban Cuomo? That would be far, far more effective in protecting our safety and the quality of life.
