“Clark, a former substitute teacher from Sugar Land, Texas...”

To the FReepers WHO still subject their kids to public schools:

These are YOUR SCHOOLS. Sugarland is a ‘nice community’ outside of Houston. It is where the ‘better people’ send their children to be ‘educated’. It is not an Inner City school system, not by any means. It is a ‘wonderful’ school system, by any measurement.

Yet THESE ARE THE TYPES OF PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE.

“Yet THESE ARE THE TYPES OF PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE.”

I was at a very large party with a lot of liberals. I was chatting with this very attractive woman who turned out to be a drunk, lesbian grade school teacher. (Her partner, another grade school teacher, came over to lean on her while we chatted.) She talked about “hating the little f*ckers.” (They both laughed.) I asked why she went into teaching. Between belches, she said, “Somebody has to teach the little bastards to act like ‘real’ people.” By that she meant pro-LGBT. I asked her how she dealt with the parents, which she called (something like) “baby-farmers.” That’s not quite it but it was derogatory and had to do with producing children, which she didn’t like. She put on her dealing-with-parents voice for me. It was like I was talking to a totally different person. Even the drunkenness was gone while she wore her “I love kids” persona. It was truly a frightening experience. And, yet, from across the room and when she wasn’t drunk, feeling up her partner, she looked the ideal grade school teacher.
