POTUS did the best with what he had and reached into his own pocket to do it. I’d say that’s classy. These stuffed shirts would have just cancelled if they had had to cope without their staff.
Also keep in mind his staff was limited. He could have taken
them over to his hotel which is three blks or so from the WH
but he chose not to. He does things differently and doesn’t
get hung up in tradition every time.
