Actually it’s a straight up illegal coup d’etat..which doesn’t have to include the military as it can be an overthrow by the political elite apparatus ‘within the state’ against the existing government to unseat the sitting executive... which is what’s now happening.

A soft coup is still a coup - and, by definition, illegal.

A soft coup doesn’t involve violence, whereas a hard coup usually has dozens to thousands killed, plus a lot of property damage. That is the difference that I was trying to highlight.
