At dinner the other night, a QC friend of mine I forget what the Q stands for but I know exactly why theyre all called Cs tried explaining to me why Theresa Mays Brexit deal is actually a good deal for Britain.
So I asked him to explain to me whats good about it.
He began by agreeing that the deal isnt perfect but said that theres got to be a bit of give and take on both sides. Then he conceded that of course No deal might have been better but because the government had made such poor preparations for such an eventuality over the last two and half years
Let me stop you right there, you despicable, fat, Establishment sell-out tosser I said.
This is the problem with every Remain argument Ive ever heard. None of them can actually explain why Theresa Mays deal or any of the other fudges, cop-outs and surrenders being planned by the Remainers in any way respects the wishes of the 17.4 million people who voted Brexit in 2016.
Thats what is making all those of us who voted Brexit and we are, after all, the majority so increasingly frustrated and angry. We voted for Brexit in good faith. We were told our decision would be honoured. And all weve heard since from the political class is endless fancy excuses on why it cant deliver what we want.

In the end, there is only one solution.
Yellow jackets.
No doubt
Yep! This is such a blatant slap in the face for Brexiteers. They did NOT vote to negotiate an exit. They voted en mass TO exit.
Still think your vote counts?
QC = Queen’s Counsel?
Right.
They won’t do it, but violent revolution is the only cure. Burning down Parliament with the traitors inside might be a start.
The Brexiteers need to dig their heels in and reject whatever shabby bargain the EUrocrats and the fifth columnists within Britain offer. Hard Brexit is a necessity to regain Britains national sovereignty.
Once that is done, the US should immediately offer a free trade deal along the lines of the revised NAFTA agreement.
“Bags I get to be Negan” ??
Sadly, both my Britspeak and knowledge of “The Walking Dead” are lacking.
it’s a disgrace the way the Brexit has been handled, by the politicians and the media.
SHAME ON THEM ALL.
Me too, especially in this case. But I suspect it means something along the lines of "dibs."
Or more clearly, the battle is between the so-called intelligence (as produced by universities and colleges) and wisdom.
Gee, I wonder which side will win?;-)
The British have put themselves in a no-win situation. If May’s Brexit deal is voted down, her government will crumble. If a new election is held, many of the Brexit voters will protest the Conservative Party by voting for Labour. If Corbin wins, then he will drive the UK to the far-left. He will open the borders to unfettered migration; he will align the country with the worst of the worst, such as Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah. He will make life in Britain intolerable for Jews and likely will see many of them leave. Once all this has been accomplished, the UK will be no more than a vassal of the EU and it would not be surprising to see the new EU Army ( think Germany and France) send troops to help out. The old Britain will be something for the nostalgic to read about in history books.
That’s starting to read like a more-subtle version of the plot of the Rowan Atkinson movie “Johnny English”! One of the frustrations of modern life is that it’s becoming almost impossible to out-parody reality.

Boris Johnson’s time has come.
Intelligence is innate+early influences
I think you will find that the word "intellectualism" has a different definition/meaning than the one you are using.
As a follow-up, it appears that the kind of "intelligence" used by colleges and universities is a pseudo-rational adoption of the moral relativism pushed by postmodernism.
My comment here is pre-morning coffee and it is 3:50 am here, so I might be way off-base.;-)
