And, per the article, you'll still receive a paper receipt if you ask for one.
Most people wad up their receipts and throw them in the trash.
I see nothing wrong with this. I accept e-receipts at any given opportunity.
Waste is not a conservative value.
Honestly, the state/Feds will love this, because they will be able to disqualify more items
But that is why taxpayers will fight this.
Taxpayers need those deductions to stay in business.
They already ask if you want one now, no reason to even get involved. And it WILL become mandatory no paper in short order once they get their foot in the door. Are you familiar with how Ca does things?
I rarely have paper receipts and usually have E-Receipts so this does not effect me but I will fight the leftist agenda and power grab behind it.
Do you then print them out for your records - for security, should you need them to make a return?
I'd ask if you are self-employed, but that looks obvious as you seem not to worry about having to have MACHINE receipts for tax purposes, and lastly... if you print them out - e-receipts are petty useless as they'd be long lost should you need them weeks/months down the road - if you print them out - is not the paper sheet larger than a machine receipt? and you are still using ink...
Just curious...
