Everyone is loving Lindsey Graham because he's been saying things they want to hear. I'm wondering what he'll do with a nominee he doesn't approve of.

Time will tell. More importantly, should Ginsburg leave the bench this time next year will McConnell and Graham respect the Biden rule and leave the seat empty until after the election?

Graham said he would wait until after the election if that happened.

Didn’t that have to do with the fact that the Repugnants had control of the Senate when BO nominated Garland? So, in 2019/2020, Repugnants still control the Senate and should be a green light to move ahead with a nomination should the opportunity arise.

Garland was nominated in March 2016, on Super Tuesday primary day.

If Ginsburg steps down in January or February 2020, I think people might be okay with a nomination because the candidate field may be very unsettled at that time.

The argument for letting voters decide may not resonate as much as it did in 2016 when the candidates were known and the contrasts were so clear.

Still, the Democrats have never been shy about making bold, even hypocritical, demands when it suits their needs. The question, as always, will be how the Republicans respond.
