If McConnell had forced the democraps to actually filibuster the border wall funding, President Trump would have had it built by now. This is because no one in the Senate has the stamina to stand up and read a phone book 24/7 or hang around the capital for a surprise cloture vote at 3am. Bring back real filibusters, and you’ll see lots getting done. Now all Schumer has to do is tell McConnell he’s filibustering a bill and McConnell says OK that’s the end of that one.
This is a reprise of George Mitchell’s gambit against George HWBush. Give us this now and we promise to negotiate on the rest.
I think Pres. Trump is too smart for that one.
Good for Mitch! Schumer acting like he’s in charge of the Senate.
