Hundreds of furloughed federal workers, contractors, union representatives and supporters gathered in the brisk wind and bitter cold Thursday to demand government leaders “end this shutdown.”
Leaders of the National Federation of Federal Employees said they hoped that bringing federal workers to the president’s doorstep would show him whom the shutdown has hurt most. President Trump, though, wasn’t there to see them, having left earlier in the day to visit the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas.
“We want to send a very strong message — that this is not about politics, it’s about getting people back to work,” said Brittany Holder, a spokeswoman for the NFFE and a protest organizer. “A lot of the county thinks federal workers are all here in the D.C. area, but it’s only 15 percent. If you’re living paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet, and suddenly the paychecks stop? People are feeling really stressed and anxious, and they want to know when this will end.”
Protesters, who packed the street outside the AFL-CIO building on 16th Street NW, held signs that declared “I want to go back to work,” and “Congress: Do your job so we can do ours.” The protest came on the 20th day of a partial shutdown that has left nine federal departments and several agencies closed since Dec. 22.
The group began to march about 1:20 p.m. to the White House, calling on Trump to reopen the government with or without funding he has requested for a border wall.

They are not thinking of anything past the current bills and expenses they have to pay.

Unionized federal workers?
Workers in Unions, and those unions that overwhelmingly support democrats?
Maybe those unions can cut back on funneling money to democrat candidates and instead support their out of work dues paying union workers?
Keep it shut down. This could be really interesting, break the back of the Gov Employee unions?
Federal workers, especially those who protest are all democrats. So what you mean is democrats want the government open. Ok, I get that. But more of a reason to keep it shut. When the press who is also all democrat also demand it gets open, we should ignore that as well. And when the illegal aliens as for it to be opened too, so they can ignore their court summons, we should praise Trump for hitting all the right folks.

These are nothing but Democrats doing what Democrats do best — demonstrate. If they were honest about wanting the government open, they would also be demonstrating at the Congress to pressure the Democrats to negotiate. The fact that they chose to demonstrate only at the WH is a democrat political stunt and nothing more.
Hey, they’ve got the time now so let them go ahead and bitch and moan all they want to.

They need to protest Congress. The President can’t do anything until he get a bill that he can either sign or veto.
That should be Trumps message - Tell them over and over “The Democrats want ILLEGALS to come first”
They are keeping up this farce to enable ILLEGAL border crossings, after all.

Look at our prior do nothing HOR house. Voters and STAY HOME voters took care of their worthless arses!
Then, they will be very happy when Trump issues the emergency order to build the wall and opens up the government.
Trump should only open selective agencies with specific CRs. I would keep some agencies like EPA, energy, education parts of the FBI and other parasitic and malicious agencies partially shut down as long as possible.
They need to be talking to the freaky old, San Francisco whore in The House on The Hill.
Nancy and that Nose that wears glasses that is grafted onto her should help ICE escort the MS-13 members and their supporters into the courtrooms of the Judges who support open borders! They can have sanctuary in the Judges chamber!

It is about creating and pimping a narrative, not ending the paid vacation.
