How can it be a developing story. Trump met with the dems and said it was a total waste of time. Not sure how that story develops further.

There is a reason Democrats want illegal immigration - the 2020 census. Liberal states have sanctuary laws to encourage illegals to come to their states. More people translates to more congressional House seats. 5 million illegals in California translates to 7 congressional House seats. That is all Democrats care about. They don’t care about drugs or dead cops, just more power.
Congress promised US border security in exchange for amnesty for 3.5 million illegal aliens in 1986.
We didn’t get it.
Instead we got another 20 million illegal aliens.
Congress promised US border security with the Secure Fence Act in 2006.

Schumer came out and blatantly lied about what happened. He twisted Trump’s words as if he merely asked Pelosi if she would support the wall.
Trump had really asked her, after he quickly opened up the government, would she approve border security if it contained a wall. She said no.
What was there to negotiate?
Trump to call Nancy and Chuck and tell them the $5.7 is off the table and tell them he wants $25 billion. No bills get signed until a clean border security appropriation is on this desk. Play hardball.
