You don’t believe there is a crisis at the border right now? I am wondering why you were referring to Trump using a word like crisis as if it were wrong...backfiring? Well no matter what he said they would leap all over it, that is what they do. If he had said there were some issues with the border that need addressed they would be doing the same theatrical game they are doing now.

I DO think it’s a crisis. I am definately among the 42% that considers it a crisis. I am also among the 88% that believes it’s a problem.
So the point I was trying to make is that if we use the word “problem”, we get to claim a stunning 88% voter support for our position. Sometimes it’s more effective to use the broader description and claim a more powerful coalition, that’s all I was saying.

No, that wasn’t my point - I think Trump’s instincts are spot on - and they rarely backfire. I was saying that when you see Trump soft pedaling an issue, like locking Hillary up, (which he no longer talks about) the reason might be that he’s building a broader coalition...
