When I first came here , it was extremely rare to see an African-American person on any of the outer islands. Those on Oahu were usually military associated . Except Frank Marshall Davis....Nowadays that’s changed a lot m Black folks are all over , and including tons of Af-Am tourists. No black ghetto have developed. The various islander ethnic minorities have a lock on all of that and many/most tend to be quite racist towards African Americans . Hard then for them to get a foothold ,neighborhood wise. Just all scattered around , here and there.No cultural basis/roots either.
Without a ghetto and feral underclass, we miss out on all those inner-city games the mainland enjoys.
