The Trump administration is considering a far-reaching rollback of civil rights law that would dilute federal rules against discrimination in education, housing and other aspects of American life, people familiar with the discussions said.
A recent internal Justice Department memo directed senior civil rights officials to examine how decades-old disparate impact regulations might be changed or removed in their areas of expertise, and what the impact might be, according to people familiar with the matter. Similar action is being considered at the Education Department and is underway at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Leftist heads will be exploding shortly . . .
I’m gonna hafta peek in at Dummies Unlimited.
Oh please, yes !
Such program evaluations should (ideally) be conducted at least every 5 years — all programs, no exceptions. The issue here isn’t that Trump has ordered a reassessment — the issue is that it hasn’t been done several times already.
Gee, really?
So does this mean that people from Mexico, Pakistan, the entire Indian Subcontinent, the entire area of Central and Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, all of Africa save the few Caucasians left there, the inbred Middle East, all of Central and South America will no longer have more rights the moment they set foot in this country then those of us whose families started the place?
Gosh I hope so. Then I can stop telling my son about the unfortunate situation he faces as any foreigner who doesn’t look like him is more important to the government then he is.
The “rollback” will NEVER EVER happen. Not in 100 billion years.
You mean ‘merit’ might be the determining factor??? Say it ain’t so Joe!
The Deep Sate does what it wants to do. It is silly to think otherwise. It doesn’t respond to input from above unless it agrees with it and the President is a radical leftist. Then they will follow and even go farther left with out orders.
“...people familiar with the discussions said.”
One step less credible than “anonymous sources”.
This is awesome. Disparate impact laws are BS.
Then what is the point of this forum? Why was Trump elected? Why has he been successful? Or do you say that he has not been successful, and that he is a member of the deep state?
I don’t buy the victim role. It’s for losers.
considering....
The day after wall funding flare up happened the SD announced it was giving central America $10B dollars. That was not a coincidence, that was the Deep State sticking it in your face pal. That was to demoralize you. It was pre planned to turn you against President Trump.
I think Trump needs to clean house especially at State. We will see.
Those discriminatory laws are illegal and unconstitutional and must be eliminated. Race based preferences are wrong.
The deep state will NOT do what they want, or Trump would not have been elected.
The two are mutually exclusive, unless Trump is one of them.
Your optimism is overwhelming.
Bernie supporter?
The Deep State is a DC bureaucratic army about 800,000 strong and I am sure 90% of them voted for Hillary.
Your response is 100% unresponsive.
Do you maintain that the deep state does what it wants, when it wants?
Yes or no?
If yes, then how did DJT get elected, and how has he had success?
No.
