I think this is more PR than fact changing for the farmer.(At least that's my read on it)
Cargill and McDonald's may pay "lip service" to WWF and Peta and who knows what else but McDonald's is not known as a quality beef buyer(Hamburger made from ground up aged dairy cows)
And Cargill probably buys it's beef from feedlots where it's cows never touch a grassy field and force fed antibiotics from birth to death, whether it's sick or not.
As an independent beef producer(actual farmer) we don't do that nor do we have septic ponds where the "biomass" from the feedlots are drained into a poisonous lagoon, waiting to cause problems.
Unlike the chieftains at Cargill and McDonalds, we autaul consume our products daily. And proudly so.
