Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi told NBC's "Today" show in an interview set to air Thursday that she will not provide President Donald Trump with the border wall funding he has demanded and shut down the government over.
Asked by NBC's Savannah Guthrie if she was willing to give up any money specifically for the border wall, Pelosi said "no."
"We can go through the back and forth," Pelosi said in a clip that aired on MSNBC on Wednesday. "No. How many more times can we say no? Nothing for the wall."

As far as I’m concerned the Republican party no longer exists, we have NOBODY representing us in Washington anymore other than Trump and a handful of people. It’s absolutely disgusting that a small minority of wackos in this country get all the representation in DC while we get stomped on. “Republicans” holding both houses for 2 years, and Trump is the guy who gets his ass investigated off, absolutely pathetic. And nothing done about the wall or the Obamacare Holocaust.
Welp, time to rebrand the wall as an environmental control project and break ground with the Corp of Engineers

Even Congress needs federal gov’t employees to issue their paychecks.
No VIP plane or flights for Pelosi during the shutdown!
I think if the Justice Department simply took down one single mayor in California, suggesting some ten-year sentence...the whole sanctuary city thing would dissolve fairly quickly. My guess, at some point 2019...a federal charge will pop up and some mayor-snowflake will freak out over prison time.
Oh I do agree that the veto will be exercised with Pelosi’s House, and most of the discussion will never get past the Senate. I think the shutdown will go a minimum of 60 days, and put a number of DC workers into severe financial faults. A lot of those people have huge debt issues and missing two paychecks will bring down their whole life.
One by one, begin moving federal departments out of Wash DC ONLY to red states. Shut down the military bases in CA. All of the military money is helping to keep CA in business.
Time for hardball.
Then tell her prepare for two years of spending nothing. Not even one continuing resolution gets signed until President Trump gets his whole twenty five billion. Don’t stick with 5 billion tell the dems that since they are at zero he will go back to his initial figure of twenty five billion. Then if they want a compromise its 12.5 billion
And throwing the rest of the USA citizens under the bus.
Or China trade, either...
Nothing yet.
FUNP.
I would just bet most of those non essential personnel are RATS. Too bad if they all lost their jobs.
Nancy, you went full retard. The $5B deal is no longer on the table.
“Bring in the army. They are still paid for. Let the parks go. Or lock them up. But the border is important.”
No, you have to keep up appearances, the parks stay, it doesn’t cost squat to have the parks. But we don’t have to fund a lot of expensive albatross agencies, that is for sure.
Hopefully election night 2020 will give us plenty of fresh liberal tears videos to watch at lunchtime.
Her game face says otherwise.
Under their union contracts, they will (unfortunately) all get paid eventually. However, if their jobs are non essential or actually destructive, it doesn't follow that it is more of a loss to taxpayers than if they were doing their jobs.
If the entire EPA staff stays home and is drunk or high, at least they can't cause any mischief like Gold King Mine disasters.
95% of the political donations from the Federal workforce went to Hillary in 2016.
Let them eat ramen!
She needs to get elected Speaker before we can see what's in it.
phuc yu Nancy
And nothing for you and your evil clan.
