Stock market has been a crap shoot since it was invented. Nothing new. It just is getting wilder due to computer trading. Stock prices are guaranteed to fluctuate!
Keep in mind, stock prices are based on mental attitude of people at the current time. It is not directly proportional to company earnings, cash flow, etc. But in the longer run, stocks tend to revert towards historical norms.
