Top progressive lawmakers Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said this week they will vote against bylaws to govern the 116th Congress that are backed by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the likely next Speaker.
Their objection is to the inclusion of what's known as a pay-as-you-go rule, which requires that legislation be deficit neutral, meaning any costs would need to be offset with new revenue or cuts elsewhere.

Remember when Hillary took her Senate seat? She told the senior Senators how it was going to be and they told her what she was going to get. Senior Senate dems surprised me by showing some guts and putting her her place. Biggest thing was she thought she earned her predecessor’s prize committee chair just by winning that seat. Upset her that she would have to wait her turn for at least several terms. I wonder if Occasional Cortex will end up the same.
