A few years ago, I was backpacking for a week in Smokey Mountain National Park.
I went off to a field, dug my cathole and proceeded to do my business. I looked off to the left and saw an enormous pile of bear poop, about the size of a Frisbee.
Another one to my right, another behind me.
My first thought “Why did I dig a hole.”
Second thought “I’m out of here.”
Did any of the bear poop have bells in it and smell like bear spray?

When my kids were little we used walk the tracks at the station looking for treasure. The reality was turds and toilet paper from station flushes.
