Thank you. I’ve been very insulted on this thread. I hate it when we don’t like someone and FReepers immediately blame their whole group. Glad you spoke up. We are against Romney, not all Mormons.
It's the “blame game. People are frustrated, and the weaker-minded ones resort to these kinds of mass mis-characterizations because they are frustrated. Romney, Flake, to some extent Hatch, did not showcase their faith very well. That should not be a blanket indictment of all Mormons. From a doctrinal perspective, I don't know how Romney keeps his membership, but I suspect because his father was a senior church official, it's like McCain and his father getting him a pass that would have gotten a lesser individual kicked out. Then you can look over at the Catholics and wonder how Pelosi says in good standing. Churches are “businesses!” They need money and power, so these people who can give them both get “special dispensations.” It's why I took a pass on all of it a half century ago. I don't need someone who is no better than me, and maybe not as good, telling me that they can “help me to be better” with the right amount of money and penitent attitude!
