The girl from Ipanema was real and used to walk along the beach every day on her way to work.
I worked at Texas Instruments and went there in 1973. They had a small factory in Campinas, near Sao Paulo. I remember the country was little backwards, but beautiful. It rained every afternoon for a few minutes.
Many of the women were also beautiful. Lots had families that came from Europe and Japan.
