Austin did this years ago. There was denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance... followed by a general revolt, and some business have gone back to offering bags because a great many people said, “fine, I’ll shop elsewhere”.
Enjoy the irritation for the next few years, at a minimum.
just think, take away a half dozen airplane junkets from the govt class and you could save a whole bunch more energy than banning very very thin plastic bags..
...many people said, fine, Ill shop elsewhere.

Thats what I did. I now grocery shop the next town over. I use those plastic disposable bags for all sorts of things like garbage can liners.
So when do they ban plastic zip lock bags? I’d wager those types of bags are much worse.
The what about kitchen or lawn plastic trash bags?
How about the millions of small plastic containers used by HEB to package their overpriced prepared foods.
What about the plastic bags your bread comes in?
The plastic ban is not a ban as the stores offer the plastic bags and charge .10 to .25 each here in California. I believe the money is divided up between the store owner and the democrat party. In short bribery/kickback.
After all you can get plastic bags for the meat and deli and vegetables etc at no extra charge.
