Exactly. At some point the “black community” needs to be responsible for their own destiny.
I believe a lot of the calls for reparations are designed to keep the de facto reparations in place - especially the legally-indefensible affirmative action. There are far too many “foreigners” that would have to fund this as the American population contracts/dwindles.
At its core, this discussion is a de facto admission that many blacks accept that they have no place in a modern economy; they’ve watch countless waves of immigrants arrive from all corners of the Earth, often without the benefit of speaking English, and most quickly outperform blacks socio-economically. They are looking for legal guardianship akin to that accorded to Native Americans, nothing less (and for the most part, they already get it).

They wallow in something that ended more than 150 years ago and claim victim status. Maybe they should study other ethnic groups and look to the future, not the past.
