4 The US trade war has prompted some overseas companies to rethink whether they should invest in new plants and equipment in China, despite the temporary pause in hostilities.
Foreign direct investment inflows into China fell in the first 11 months of this year, according to the latest government data, and concerns are mounting among corporate leaders and investors about how long trade tensions between the worlds two biggest economies will last.
Economists are predicting that Chinas gross domestic product growth could slip below 6 per cent next year if the trade dispute escalates further and continues to filter down to the private sector. Beijing has a 6.5 per cent GDP growth target for this year...

Our trade situation with China is now the worst, between any two countries, ever in recorded history.
The worst. Ever.
Ever.
It is getting even worse, this year (just ending)
Trump, do something, please.

What do you think hes doing? (face palm)
What do you think hes doing? (face palm)
“The worst. Ever.
Ever.”
Tell us how you really feel..
I really don’t know.
I have supported Trump since very early. Right here on FR.
I have been with him since the beginning.
He was the best guy for the job, by far. Way better than anyone else.
That said, I supported Trump from the very beginning, because of two important issues:
The Wall. And China trade.
Neither one, is a bit fixed.
It has been two entire years.
That is why I said that. Because NEITHER ISSUE is being addressed yet.
Neither one.
Two years...
So you want him to do both by executive fiat?
“Our trade situation with China is now the worst, between any two countries, ever in recorded history.”
Hyperbole much?
“While the inventory surge in the last few months of the year is nothing new, as that’s when warehouse space is often eaten up as retailers stock up for the holiday season, the strains emerged this year as many companies boosted their reserves of imports to get ahead of a rise in tariffs, originally expected on Jan. 1 but later postponed to April.”

China had a “fire sale”.

Please note the website, as of this week does say “NOTICE: Due to a lapse in federal funding this website is not being updated.”...
I repeat, just to be clear:
The worst, between any two countries, at any time in recorded history.
The worst.
Right now.
I agree, April will be the test of Trump viv-s-vis China.
He has to win BIG or throw in the new tariffs.
It’d be a very good idea to take an executive department still crawling with Obama holdovers with a grain of salt.
American business supply chains are interwoven into PRC enterprises. American consumers are addicted to cheap PRC goods. As the American economy booms, so do imports from the PRC due to the above reasons. Trump has imposed tariffs against the PRC but they are mere speed bumps, not barriers. The only way to get the PRC’s real attention is to ban PRC companies and citizens from doing any business in America. The problem is could Trump and American business also survive such a disrupion?
Trump, do something, please.
Cba123 believes Trump has more power and authority than Jesus Christ.
Cba123 believes Trump can ignore the House, Senate, MSM, and the Constitution and make solve the Chinese issue overnight.
Cba123 also believes Trump is a fool for not having built the Wall, yet, and that Trump does not deserve his vote unless Trump does everything Cba123 says should be done.
No.
But I am not alone, thinking he has not pushed the wall like he said he would.
Lots, and lots of people are saying that now.
I am completely serious.
I still think we were completely right to elect Trump as president.
But he really, really needs to build it.
Now.
The people have more money to buy things they need and want. Many of the goods they desire are manufactured in China. It’s logical that the trade deficit would increase until US manufacturers start making the same goods.
When was the last time you read the Constitution? It’s Congress who appropriates money. Please describe the kind of “push” you’re envisioning.
