E-Verify bothers me a lot. Short term, it will help control illegal immigration. Long-term, it becomes a mighty weapon of the deep state.

When the deep state uses E-Verify as a mighty weapon, it's no longer the deep state: it's the overwhelming majority, so the game is over anyway.

But I don't see this happening without Congressional approval, and we don't have the House.

States can do it, forcing the illegals to move to other states. So there's that.

Bothers me too, but that is why we have laws that forbid improper use, never mind that is never a problem to lawbreakers. I know of many working here illegally, using multiple social security numbers. The SS administration does not give a damn, as long as they get their money.
I was told by a person in charge why they don’t use e-verify: “we just look the other way.”

E-Verify is’t new. It has been around for a long time.

Employers are just bypassing it.
