...Most of the evils that continue to beset American journalism today, in truth, are not due to the rascality of owners, nor even to the Kiwanian bombast of business managers, but simply and solely to the stupidity, cowardice and Philistinism of working newspapermen.
The majority of them, in almost every American city, are still ignoramuses and proud of it...
I saw the headline, and told my wife “Let’s look at the publisher of this, highly suspicious.”
I clicked on the FR headline to find L. A. Times. I will not bother clicking the article as it isn’t worth my time.
Trump needs to pull an FDR and drop down the food chain in the officers pool and promote some Nimitz, Ikes and Lockwoods if he wants to change things. Sure the media and those generals and admirals ready for promotion at or near the top will get the vapors but they are a part of the problem, not the solution.
Not true!
Troll!
I never liked the idea of Kelly or anybody being a gatekeeper to the President. (Even Trump’s children were supposed to go through him for an appointment.)
That sounds to me like it cuts off the flow of information and contrary ideas, which are so necessary to decision making, and restricts the president to receiving only one view.
If this whiner had all the answers he wouldn’t just be a little chief of staff and wouldn’t need to shout at John Bolton.
Actually, I find most of Kelly’s responses here fairly responsible & reasonable, defending Trump from, for example, the attack that Trump pushed for illegal activities. Asking “why” is most likely to get a better understanding, and perhaps open up another angle on how to get something done.
“Outta here” for the rest of the Holiday, FRiends.
Have a Happy New Year!
These Generals are a bunch of pussies.

It would seem they are all striving to be diplomats when they should be warriors. What do they teach at War College these days? Oh well.
you are exactly 100% correct. Career officers are generally shit in the civilian workforce after retirement.
Trump sometimes pressed his advisors on the limits of his authority under the law,
Is not the same as this.
often asking Kelly, Why cant we do it this way?
Sorry, snowflake....but my post is 100% accurate.
You know, if his job was “bone crushing,” imagine what it is like for President Trump or Huckabee-Sanders.
Kelly gave the LA Times a phone interview. Why?
His quotes even out of context sound like they’re from a disloyal whiney ass with a superiority complex.
Kelly didn’t get elected to anything.
Let’s see if Kelly defends himself. If not, he approves.
“...Reading his service record, you realize that hes been nothing more than a flak for his entire career, and yet hes been promoted ...”
Same could be said for obama. Less the service to Country, obviously.
Trump’s problem is he is consistently surrounded by people with credentials and no loyalty. He needs to find hatchetmen to do his bidding. I don’t care if he has to hire people from R/The_Donald, so long as they do exactly what he asks of them.
They should be also be going through the trash bin of all of the resumes the transition team threw out as well since we all know they threw out anyone who wasn’t a NeverTrump DeepState plant.

‘Bone-crushing hard job’...
I see a slanted, cherry picked article about a phone interview, with lots of onion sprinkled liberally throughout the piece. Gen. Kelly did a great job and I am grateful for his serviceduri g this time. WH Chiefof Staff is a burnout position of the highest order. He did well.
