Do you really think that Russia will want to fight Turkey in Syria other than a slap on the hand warning?
If that were to happen, Turkey might swing back towards the US and Russia would be caught in a pincer movement. Assad needs Russian help, intact, not attacked.
No, I don ‘t think Russia is spoiling for a fight with anyone.
But I don’t believe they do nothing when Turkey rolls the tanks into Northern Syria.
Notice it’s Turkey that has taken the prudent pause.
