A suspected drunken driver accused of killing a California police officer who pulled him over was captured Friday as he tried to flee back to Mexico, where he lived before illegally crossing into the U.S., authorities said. The sheriff leading the investigation blamed California's sanctuary law for preventing local authorities from reporting Gustavo Perez Arriaga to U.S. immigration officials for two previous drunken driving arrests. If he had been deported, the sheriff said, Cpl. Ronil Singh of the tiny Newman Police Department would still be alive. "We can't ignore the fact that this could have been preventable," Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson told reporters, asking why the state was "providing sanctuary for criminals (and) gang members. It's a conversation we need to have." Following a statewide manhunt, Perez Arriaga was arrested on a murder warrant in a house near Bakersfield, about 200 miles (320 kilometers) southeast of where Singh was shot Wednesday.

Ice needs to have a reward hotline
ICE needs to pay a bounty- Even $5 will drop some illegals.
I find it astounding that the News Media has played up the “Illegal Immigrant” shooter angle on this case.
Back in the 1970s, ICE used to give a minimal payment for illegals to be turned over by local sheriffs. When that ended, local LEOs couldn’t afford to house them so didn’t bother any more. That said, our little podunk rural county turned over about 50 to ICE the day after Christmas and they do so regularly. Fine by me if we’re paying for them, it gets them out. Either way, it all comes out of the tax bucket.
Pelosi is not a California state legislator or Governor.
She may not be a state legislator but, she is a leader in the Democrat party. She still has a tremendous amount of influence by making sure that taxpayer money gets to her pet projects. It’s very important that elected state officials march to the beat of her drum.
TRUE. The whole reason for 'sanctuary cities' is to protect criminals.
Two solutions.
Ignore the Sanctuary nonsense.
I believe the ‘Rats call it Patriotic Civil Disobedience.
Call ICE and tell them to be waiting by the front door when the illegals are released.
And a message to Singh family...LAWSUIT
Totally preventable. The sheriff needs to take his complaint to Pelosi.

He needs to serve an arrest warrant at her Pacific Heights mansion door.
My wife was watching the local news on this story.
They referred to the criminal as an undocumented worker.
The next story was about a child who died and his mother had trouble traveling to this country to see him before he died, due to Trump administration policies.
The media is nothing but propaganda.
We all need to make sure that the responsibility for this LEO’s death is placed squarely on Gov Jerry “moonshit” Brown and his policies of protecting illegal criminals from federal laws and from being turned over to federal law enforcement officers.
Moonshit brown should be tried for this murder it is 100% his fault.
$10 says he releases a dozen illegal aliens to a defenseless public in the next week
Maybe not. Our little podunk county turned about 50 over to ICE the day after Christmas. It regularly does every few days. 50! In just one county. How many weren’t caught? Imagine if every county and city would do this.
Not even. CA law states CA law enforcement cannot inform federal authorities of an illegal invader in their custody. The law does not state that law enforcement officers can't post a PUBLIC statement on their facebook page. It's up the ICE to look at it or not. I think they'll be looking.
Repel foreign invasion. It cant even do that very well anymore.
The things they do to stay in power and I wonder how long the money trail is.
