His actions are the only metric one can ever consider. Not his words. Not the words of other people. Only his actions. And since the GOP establishment have embraced liberalism for the better part of a whole century (this is detailed in The Conscience of a Conservative), there is no “blackmail” needed to motivate one to serve the Uniparty; only the institutionalized ideology.
