There are basic interrelated questions that any student of human history must ask. Why is human history filled with so much evil, and why do good people so often do nothing in the face of evil?

So I’ll tell this story which doesn’t get much attention. Back around Nov 2016, we had this Iraqi-German kid (12 years old) who got into ‘trouble’. I should note....he was born in Germany....so he ought to be considered 100-percent German.
He got hyped up and interested in making a nail-bomb. He got on the internet...found jihadist supporters, and they guided him to make bomb number one, which was supposed to go off at a German Xmas market. It failed. He made bomb number two, and in the process of dropping it and lighting it up....someone noted what he was doing...stopped him and held him until the cops got there.
The authorities appoint some social welfare guy to examine him and the guy says he’s got issues but ought to be released to the parents, and get remedial ‘treatment’. The kid goes back to the parents, and they come to figure out that the kid is a major threat, and say so to the judge involved. So the social welfare people decide that the kid (remember, he’s 12) needs to go to an inpatient program for problem-kids.
He’s at the inpatient program for no more than a couple of days, and they call up the authorities/social welfare folks to say...come and get this kid, he’s way beyond what we can handle.
So the social program folks have to go and create a locked entry facility for him....bring in a tutor, and basically create something like a prison but for a jihadist kid. It’s been roughly 18 months since that point. No one talks about the situation or kid anymore. He’ll stay there till age 19 probably, and they will have to make another decision then. I have my doubts that anyone will be willing to sign paperwork to release him into the public as an adult.
He is more or less...a junior psychopathic individual. I have my doubts that he can ever be changed.
I think the bulk of these ISIS thugs and jihadists fit the profile of psychopaths. They need to feel as though they are doing some ‘good’ for their actions and this mission is their ‘ticket’.
Sounds very likely.
One could argue that any warrior would fit that description. IOW, one philosphy's soldier is another philosophy's terrorist.
I think there is a balance that averages things out to equanimity, sort of like the stock market, which is now re-balancing.
Well, when it involves moslem, it is a kill or be killed circumstance. History doesn’t lie.

The real psychopaths are the ones letting them in.
Just on the surface, it seems that not only does Islam create psychopaths removing the conscience when it comes to killing infidels. It adds an additional element unavailable to psychopaths in Western culture.
It's like teaching Ted Bundy that the pleasures of serial killings aren't in and of themselves the only reward. On top of the sheer fun of killing, you also achieve the status of martyrdom (i.e., eternal favor in the eyes of Allah).
I have an old friend who has been a hard core Liberal (with a capital "L") since his Ivy League college days and he insists that Muslims are merely victims of Western colonialism.
He blames 9/11 completely on the U.S.

The Bible speaks of evil possession. Jesus, Himself cast out demons. Just me, but evil truly exists, often disguises itself fully in religion.
Also, i dont care what religion you claim, a terrorist is a psychopath or worse.

These so called jihadists are nothing but a bunch of mass murderers that have found a way to “justify” their vicious acts. Who else would get a kick out of beheading and torturing human beings?

In Islam, the ONLY guaranteed way to go to Paradise, is to die in jihad. If you are depressed and suicidal, the ONLY acceptable way to die is in a jihad operation, like suicide bombing.

The comments at American Thinker are sickening; they could have been written by Joseph Goebbels. Jews are the cause of all that is evil in the Middle East and the world. Muslim terrorists are driven to evil acts because the evil Joooz have driven them to it.
Other comments hold Judaism, Christianity and Islam as morally equivalent. A strong thread of atheism there.

These commenters are scarier than religious fanatics. They are amoral sociopaths who can kill for no real reason at all.
