WH budget chief Mulvaney: Pelosi stalling negotiations; shutdown could last into 2019

Because Democrats politicize everything, it’s very likely that the current government shutdown could last into 2019, according to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Mick Mulvaney, who is also the incoming Acting White House chief of staff.

In an interview with “Fox News Sunday,” Mulvaney said that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who will likely reclaim the Speaker’s gavel in a few weeks, is intentionally stalling efforts to negotiate and resolve the partial shutdown, which began at midnight Saturday and affects one-quarter of the federal workforce.

Mulvaney also insisted that POTUS Donald Trump “refuses to go along to get along” and is not coming off his demands for $5 billion in border security funding that would include construction of a portion of his long-sought wall.

Good. Now the president can go back to 25 billion and make an offer to “pay for it” by making cuts along the lines I listed a couple replies above: https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/3714884/posts?page=37#37

And I thought I wanted a teeny, tiny government!

I actually like the idea of having only the spending that Congress can get through on an override to his veto as a matter of principle.

NO! Not a penny less than 5 Billion. The Dems need to be reminded they promised funding for the wall to Ronald Reagan in exchange for Amnesty. They got Amnesty but we did not get the wall. No MORE GIFTS To THE DEMS! Stand our ground on this issue and we will have less problems in the future. In fact, I would suggest adding 1 billion more to the demand for each week the government is closed due to the Dems stubbornness and treachery.

If the President is not coming off his demand for $5 billion then what is there to negotiate?
