Did slaves get multi million dollar contracts based on merit?

Not quite. Collective bargaining wasn’t quite as good back in those days.

No but they could get bonus pay for bags/day of cotton. /s These assclowns should be grateful they were rescued from a “life of slavery” by these “old white men” with “slave mentality”. Uh, did he possibly mean “slave OWNER mentality”? Intellect is not a strong point with lee brawn. Don’t see him refusing to cash his paycheck because it might be tainted by whitey.
