American Thinker readers were warned about General Mattis over a year ago in this article. Briefly, Mattis was and remains a supporter of global warming.
The issue of global warming continues to be a reliable and simple litmus test. If someone believes in global warming, then you can be sure he is a globalist who loathes Western civilization. (SNIP)
Since that article, Mattis's charge sheet has expanded somewhat. Trump wanted to get trannies out of the military simply because of the costs involved in having them. Mattis pushed back and slow-walked the order. Gender dysphoria is one of the worst mental illnesses, with a 50 percent suicide rate. Who in his right mind would leave people suffering from this condition near weapons or machinery? Someone who ranks ideology above effectiveness and unit cohesion would.

That thought crossed my mind too but I think with everything Gen Flynn has been put through; he's bound to hold some animosity toward our government. He did lose everything because of it. There's no way to make him whole at this point. I wish there was.
Mattis was a great military leader.
That does not mean as Secretary of Defense, he can obstruct the President’s policy decisions.
A remember a couple of months ago, Trump called Mattis a “sort of a Democrat.”

What has always puzzled me is this: why did we fail to defoliate the poppy fields in Afghanistan and make it impossible for them to ever grow back?
But I have to be honest. Much of Trump’s big problems have been self-inflicted. For whatever reason, Trump has continually made a series of head scratching, flat-out, BAD hires.
Yep. I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want to work for POTUS. Other than public threats of a Professional Blacklisting, Democrats in masks showing up at your house and scaring your wife/kids, perjury traps by FBI that will ruin you and your family for a generation, etc., etc.
That is obviously all “self-inflicted” by Trump. A primary goal since the primaries of the Never Trumpers has been to deny him a competent staff. Don’t give them top cover.
Matbe Trump has had religious metanoia. But he retains a naivete about human nature, so lacks good judgment.
Belief in global warming is indeed a warning flag, which indicates subject has not bothered to fully investigate the issue, somehow missing the abundance of data that debunks man made global warming....or willingness to accept junk, politically correct “science.” It tells me they want to believe humans and capitalism are the cause, rather than the cure. If you believe that, what else will you believe ?....that transgenders create no issues when mixed with our fighting forces.

As career military, General Mattis was a product of his environment...while he had many great attributes I’m not sure he had full respect and appreciation for his civilian boss.

I can’t blame Trump for assuming that a 4-Star Marine General named Mad Dog would be the tough kind of badass who would maximize our military to do what they’re supposed to do; Kill people and break things. Turns out, the monicker was a misnomer. Mattis has a softer side, accepting of trannies, et al. To express it briefly.
If Mattix is deliberately undercutting the president, he has to go - and he is going - but if he were a yes-man or a clone of the president, that might not have been for the better. An inexperienced president does need somebody who can push back sometimes.
Tillerson won't be taking much of his time leading the Boy Scouts of America from now on; he allowed gay troop leaders, and now the venerable institution is considering bankruptcy in response to gay rape claims.
Not sure what that has to do with Mattix, but those rape charges (and the decline in BSA membership) go back to before Tillerson and the changes in policy. The implication the writer's making here suggests he may not be the most reliable analyst.
Okay, “Mattis.” I spelled it wrong. I’m not the best analyst either.
Anyone know good blogs about military troops? I’d like to know how our troops feel about Mattis leaving. I read last night that they were upset. Just wondering.
