"Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure."

Sounds like they are expected to keep this info to themselves. Riiiiiiight.

IIRC, Trump sat at a table in April 2017, and was photographed & videoed signing his ‘tax returns.

There was a stack at least 3000 pages tall on his left side.

Trump entities have been audited by the IRS for years...every year.

There is NOT a single member of Congress who can determine if the IRS missed something.

The flip side of this is: How about every member of Congress bringing forth their tax returns? Especially Pelosi-—Feinstein-—Reid-—Ryan-—Dingle-—Sharpton-—ETC. Sharpton owes back taxes.

How about getting into Bezo’s returns? Zukerberg? Gates? Warren Buffett owes million to the IRS going back years. He just keeps paying lawyers to fight the IRS.

NO ONE should have the right to see someone else’s tax returns.

Oh I think you are correct...if they request just one single year, and the Treasury Secretary limits it to the head of the committee...even if he was a registered CPA, it’d take at least three months to analyze one single year’s return. But to then compare it against the previous year or try to put five of these returns into some analytical project...you’d be talking about two years of work to reach some conclusion.

Like you say....if his goes that way...all of them should put their returns on the table. I wouldn’t have a problem in mandating that one year after they turn in a return....it has to be made public knowledge.

Problem for Dems, Republicans can request Pelosi and Schumer’s tax returns also.

You're assuming there's any testicular fortitude in the Republican Party.

There is no provision in the Constitution that requires the President to provide copies of his tax returns.

A 1924 federal law - 26 U.S. Code § 6103 - mandates that the Treasury secretary "shall furnish" the tax returns of any individual for private review by the chairmen of the House and Senate tax committees.
