Voter ID becomes law in North Carolina as House overrides veto

RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina voters will be asked to show photo identification when they go to the polls next year, barring intervention by a court.

The Republican-led Legislature took the final step to shrug off Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper's veto of its photo ID bill, with the House voting 72-40 Wednesday to override after a long debate that touched on the state's history of voter suppression.

The state Senate took its override vote Tuesday.

Minutes after the House vote, the Southern Coalition for Social Justice announced that a lawsuit challenging the voter ID law had been filed in Wake County Superior Court.

The Rev. T. Anthony Spearman, president of the North Carolina NAACP, said the organization would announce a lawsuit Thursday.

How do you show ID for the fraudulent absentee ballots?

FAILING to produce an ID to vote is a huge suppression of people casting legitimate and legal votes. All the fraudulent votes nullify legal votes.

This “suppression” argument is pure unadulterated BS.

It’s like Mueller & Co looking for Russia collusion helping Trump when the real illegalities in the election are staring him in the face...and were done by HRC.

Indiana has had SCOTUS approved Voter ID since ‘08

Baffles me why other states don’t just copy it Word-for-Word

Democratic [sic] Gov. Roy Cooper's veto of its photo ID bill

This is, perhaps, the very easiest and most obvious connection of two simple dots.

And, it illustrates something so very nicely that absolutely everyone (everyone) already knows (that voter fraud artists are opponents to voter ID laws).

1. Dems (and Marxists/socialists/progressives) just HATE beyond HATE what are free and fair elections. And also,

2. Dems (and Marxists/socialists/progressives) will LIE about anything, and prefer spinning Goebbelsian uber lies to telling the truth. For Dems, lies are their bonding agent, lies define their comfort zone, and it seems that lying is a DEM intramural sport.

Voter ID laws are voter-fraud-prevention laws; and, opponents to voter ID laws are practicing vote fraud criminals.

Two simple dots. Oppose voter ID laws (1)if you endorse vote fraud (2).

Florida has a very good Voter ID law. In fact if it weren't for that law Trump would likely not be president & DeSantis and Scott would not be Governor & Senator.

What happened in Broward & Palm Beach counties in 2018 was malfeasance by elected officials, and the DNC trying out their new cheating schemes on a large scale. The new way of manipulating the vote is early voting, mail-in votes and provisional ballets. Many people think that they did steal the AG commissioner post.

Checkout a library book.
Open a bank account.
Drive a car
Buy a airline ticket

All things which require an ID.

Nully's modest proposal to end voter fraud:
• Paper ballots with human readable marks. They may be computer generated, and/or computer counted, but there must be a paper audit trail of each vote.
• Purple fingers (needs something to prevent an absentee voter/early voter from re-voting at the poll, maybe blockchain, also maybe a mugshot showing the voter and the photo ID taken at sign in? H/T for-q-clinton)
• Mandatory free on demand BIOMETRIC (iris scan, nobody ever left their irises at a crime scene!) photo ID, with a database that instantly flags for arrest anyone seeking multiple IDs. Change of name? Simply have your old card voided when you apply for the new one. At each election punch a hole in the ID, like they do in Mexico (H/T spokeshave2)
• No precinct reports their totals until ALL precincts report they have totals. No results are released until all results are in. This prevents the last to report precinct captains from knowing how much to fudge a report to give a win to their preferred candidate while maintaining some slight semblance of credibility.
• Repeal Motor Voter.
• End same-day registration where it exists, and allow ample time between registration and election for vetting of credentials of registrants.
• Instantly deport any non-citizen who registers to vote.
• Put a little ⩍ next to the names of those registered voters with death certificates, and detain and put a 72 hour psychiatric hold anyone claiming to be a dead person...

NOT in NC, but today I heard a news blurb about free food for Christmas, those receiving the food must have photo ID and proof of residency.

My state does require photo ID and it should be mandatory across the US. If people can manage to get an ID and proof of residency to get free stuff, they can get it to vote.

The problem is nothing is done to these fraudsters. I was hoping and expecting Rick Scott or Rick Desantis would charge these criminals for trying to steal the election but they did nothing. 2020 will be worse and maybe THEN they will do something???

The Rev. T. Anthony Spearman, president of the North Carolina NAACP, said the organization would announce a lawsuit Thursday.

"That won't work to stop voter fraud. A picture ID should be one of a kind so that if you use someone else's ID the poll workers will know. But as Hillary pointed out, we all look alike, so you can't tell us apart by our ID cards. We need a better way."

Good start. Fervently hope it’s adopted by the other 49 states.

Is the Southern Social Justice Center and the state’s NAACP chapter going to argue that African-Americans are just too damned stupid to get a photo ID? VA has had the photo ID requirement for some time now, and I have handed out countless ballots to African-Americans who wish to vote. It’s not rocket science.

Have trouble seeing where a judge can override them - Mississippi has had voter ID requirements for a while now.

I was hoping and expecting Rick Scott or Rick Desantis would charge these criminals for trying to steal the election but they did nothing.

The Governor not potentate or King. It could be argued that Scott had an opportunity a few years ago with Broward but it isn't clear that would have been a solution. The folks that we're talking about a elected officials not appointed. Pam Bondi is the one in my estimation that has ben dropping the ball.

DeSantis isn't in-charge yet and we can hope working with the new State Senate and new AG they will get to the bottom of the 80K votes that mysteriously showed up after the polls closed in both Broward & Palm Beach counties.
