They get Furloughed, when the shutdown is over they GET BACK PAY> They Get a FREE VACATION in other words on top of their regular vacation. They are NON ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL some paper pushers and gofers no one important.

That's a horrible assumption. The vast majority of the money spent by the government is A) Entitlements and B) contracts/handouts. Government salaries, not so much. 250,000 at $100,000 per year (for easy math purposes) is only $25 billion. The government is spending around $4 Trillion per year.
