You are correct, it was Glen Beck in 2009. I went to 9/12 Freedom Works Tea Party rally and march in 2010. I thought you went to that one too? Then we went to the Michele Bachmann rally that fall where we visited our congress critters after.

Ugh, I *wish* we went to the 9/12 rally in 2010. Instead, we went to Glenn Beck's stupid "Restoring Honor" rally, which was held at the Lincoln Memorial.
This rally was held on 8/28/10. We live in Connecticut, so we had to pick one rally over the other - couldn't do both. We definitely made the wrong decision... I wish we went to the 9/12/10 rally instead.
Attendance at the 9/12/10 rally was drastically down from the 9/12/09 rally. The #1 reason was that so many people did the same thing we did: They went to Beck's rally in August instead, and couldn't travel back to DC a couple of weeks later. (These rallies are expensive when you don't live in the DC area!)
Glenn Beck being the cause of lower attendance at the 9/12/10 rally was widely discussed on FR, on conservative talk radio, and on Fox News, etc.
THAT was the point where I finally soured on Glenn Beck. That rally was a complete waste of time (and money, on our part). All I remember about it is Glenn Beck up there weeping and talking about love. And about himself of course. SO stupid. We had friends that actually flew in from thousands of miles away to attend this ridiculous 'Glenn Beck is a god' rally. Just the memory of it ticks me off...
