The process by which the FBI keeps written notes of contacts instead of recordings must end.

Even if the FBI could be trusted, this is still a bad idea. And the FBI is far, far from being trusted.

It actually violates FBI policy to record interviews with subjects or witnesses.

I will tell you this, I would never be questioned at a law enforcement facility. If I thought for any reason I might be a target, there would be no conversation in person. I might engage in a phone call with the sole purpose of recording it for proof of intimidation.
