As ill-advised as it might sound, there seems to come a point in the life of many old alcoholics, where it’s more dangerous physically to quit drinking than to continue. I won’t be surprised if he passes away sometime soon.

There was one of those old drunks around when I was small. The docs got him down, over a period of time, to a pint a day. Anything less and he was in real trouble.
The sheriff always kept a couple of pints handy in case the old boy ran out on a weekend when the ABC store was closed.
He was in his early 80’s when he was killed by someone after money.
Who robs the town drunk because he might have cash?
