An Oval Office meeting with President Trump, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and presumptive incoming speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi Tuesday spiraled out of control in Pelosi's words over funding the border.
With a potential government shutdown looming less than two weeks away, Pelosi told Mr. Trump, "you will not win" on the border wall. The president demanded border wall funding and said he's not afraid the shut down the government over it.

Amazing to see one of our most important Founders slandered by people who should know better. Jeffersonianism died.
.
Typical screwel teechur talk!
.
Again, some of the original sovereign states clearly did not want federal interference in their banks.
On the other hand, it had been a few years since Constitution was ratified. So consider that Hamilton could have pushed Congress to petition the state legislatures, probably different people than he had dealt with at the ConCon, for a banking amendment to the Constitution before establishing his national bank.
Instead, Hamilton opened Pandoras Box with a wide interpretation of the necessary and proper clause (1.8.18), an interpretation that blatantly ignored the intentions of his former fellow ConCon delegates.
"In every event, I would rather construe so narrowly as to oblige the nation to amend, and thus declare what powers they would agree to yield, than too broadly, and indeed, so broadly as to enable the executive and the Senate to do things which the Constitution forbids. Thomas Jefferson: The Anas, 1793.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
"It is easier to get forgiveness than it is to receive permission." Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, U.S. Navy's Chips Ahoy magazine (July 1986)
Jeffersonianism was murdered by crooks.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"The constitutionally undefined political parties are basically competing, corrupt voter unions, union dues paid by means of unconstitutional federal taxes. me
"The smart crooks long ago figured out that getting themselves elected to federal office to make unconstitutional tax laws to fill their pockets is a much easier way to make a living than robbing banks." me
"Federal career lawmakers probably laugh all the way to the bank to deposit bribes for putting loopholes for the rich and corporations in tax appropriations laws, Congress actually not having the express constitutional authority to make most appropriations laws where domestic policy is concerned. Such laws are based on stolen state powers and uniquely associated stolen state revenues." me
Remember in November 2020!
There was no new amendment needed. The Bank was both necessary and proper in order to carry out specified powers.
Another feature of the Bank was keeping US bonds near par and increased economic stability.
H’s financial system ensured the strength and unity of the nation, it even provided a money supply due to the sale of the debt and the bank stock. Most of the specie had gone with the British/Tories leaving us with little money.
That problem was solved by the genius of Hamilton. Solving it was both necessary and proper. Not only was this significant for our future economic and financial health but it was a means of unifying the nation. His system was so brilliantly structured that our debt immediately became the equivalent of the UK and France.
Without Hamilton (one of the few men here who knew anything about economics and finance, Jefferson did not have a clue) our Freedom would have been on very shaky ground.
His Essay is irrefutable.
?
You’re in dreamland.
.
The Federal government has only the ‘ennumerated’ powers under our constitution.
.
>> “Without Hamilton” we would be a free state.
Those things which are the means to carry out the enumerated powers are constitutional as long as they meet Hamilton’s definition.
A National Bank assists in achieving those ends and was critical to the foundation.
You obviously know nothing about Hamilton, his total patriotism, the Bank or his financial system.
Spouting Jeffersonian lies is not convincing. Learn something before you embarrass yourself further.

The contention that the fed could exercise only those specified powers was considered and rejected at the Constitutional Convention. It knew better than you.
Donald Trump would be a total Hamiltonian like him an ardent Nationalist concerned above all about the protection of the Union.
.
You’re a real Hamilton wilted organ sucker!
Hamilton is the epitome of everything wrong with this country.
Apparently you know little about Hamilton and believe only the lies of his enemies when his list of accomplishments for his adult life is nothing short of incredible.
Hamilton was a Nationalist like Trump and me. Nationalism was a critical factor in the creation of the US and without it we would have splintered into petty states negotiating with the European empires and the death of the nation.
Hamilton’s actions to strengthen the nation included creating a financial system critical in developing the Industrial sector. This in turn led to the Union’s ability to defeat the Rebellion.
You are way over your head when it comes to Hamilton.
And the Bank made exercising those enumerated powers much easier and maybe even possible.
.
No, the bank made freedom impossible.
We’re getting rid of the ‘bank’ over the next two months, and going back to mining gold.
Freedom at last.
.
You and Hamilton are the diametric oposite to nationalist; you are a Keynesian statist.
