There is a lot more going on here than just Curry's reasonable rejection of sea rise levels.
Global swarmists know if they get their hands around insurance companies -- Obamacare writ large -- that they can either (a) force penurious penalties on Heartlanders who spend their golden years as snowbirds and/or (b) strangle the profit out of the insurance companies with penurious regulation and taxation.
I don’t even think it is that. I think it is simply a matter of enabling a global entity (the UN) to regulate and tax sovereign nations.
Because they are mostly socialists/statists at the global level, they don’t believe in bringing every floating boat up (except their own) they believe in depressing everyone DOWN to the same level of misery and industrial ineptitude.
Because they cannot figure out how to hold on to their socialist “principles” (if I may call them that) and bring the living standards of undeveloped nations up, they will take the easier course and try to hobble the developed nations.
A happy side effect for them is the diminishment and destruction of industry in developed nations. The fact that they may live in some of those developed nations is of no matter to them, since they always feel that they will be the “Party Members” whose standard of living will always be a privileged one.
