Christmas makes thieves out of many people, ironically enough. My mother always reminded us to watch our money and packages at Christmastime, because some people couldn’t afford to give their children toys and would steal to be able to do so.

It’s a debatable question, just how much your own family should come first. Some people think it justifies anything.
