I have a friend who, through the month of November, posted a daily “thankful” post. Something positive, something she was thankful for. She decided to do something similar through December- posting things about Christmas (and Channukah). She posts things like pretty snow scenes, holiday decorations, and so forth, with brief comments. Nothing long, preachy, etc.
How could anyone possibly object?
Well, she’s had a couple of “friends” who threated to “unfriend” her over her “overly sweet” posts.
I’ve known this lady for over 20 years. No, her life is not perfect, no more than anyone else’s life is perfect. However, she chooses to keep her deepest sorrows private, chooses to focus on positives and to try to brighten others’ lives.
Fortunately, she has many more real friends than these two.
I’ve observed over the years that some people are completely miserable and can’t stand it if others are not.
