The current boyfriends are always self absorbed and have major character flaws, yet don’t ever seem to get too bent out of shape when they get dumped. I keep waiting for the men to duke it out in some movie.

There is often the sale of a family property involved, an orchard, a winery, a farm, a bakery, that never gets sold ...

And often there is a famous country singer, actor, or actress escaping the limelight.

Why always a dog? Why not a cat?

Cats are demonic. They just are.

There are some with cats. One is The Nine Lives of Christmas. I watched it the other day!

There are two cats in The Nine Lives of Christmas, one of my favorite Hallmark movies.

Um, you forgot the group of movies involving a prince of some random country, My wife has had a couple of those on at some point.

Why always a dog? Why not a cat?

Because no one really likes cats, and they aren't screen friendly. Most people love dogs, they're easy to work with, and much more relateable/cuddly.

As the Director of a county shelter I assure you I have no bias for dogs versus cats. I have just never seen one with a cat in it.

By the way, I never said it but, I actually like these movies because they do bring back memories and spark a time when Christmas was more about love than department stores versus Amazon.
