That was my take as well. I was sure he was going to be found innocent - other than perhaps of 'negligent homicide' - and even that wouldn't have been right. The man was fleeing from a violent mob, and if one of the mobster's got a heart attack when she was brushed during his attempt to flee - then that was unfortunate, but not the fault of the driver.
